Conjugate Performance Training
I started training and receiving mentorship from world class coaches at 13 years old, and early on I knew this was where I belonged. For over a decade, I’ve coached strength & conditioning, powerlifting, and CrossFit using the Westside Conjugate Method, and it remains the foundation of how I program today.
The Conjugate Method is a proven system built to develop multiple qualities at the same time, rotating exercises frequently to avoid accommodation. The Conjugate is concurrent training - building maximal strength, power, speed, muscle, and durability together, simultaneously bringing up all aspects of fitness. This approach allows athletes to continue progressing even when life interrupts training, prevents major drop-offs in fitness, and avoids the constant peaks and crashes common with linear periodization programming.
Rooted in Soviet sport science and refined by Louie Simmons at Westside Barbell, the conjugate system has produced some of the strongest and most resilient athletes in the world. Its success comes from frequent exercise variation, short microcycles, and a strong emphasis on addressing individual weaknesses. Heavy maximal effort work is used strategically - typically once per week for upper and lower body while the rest of the program is heavy on assistance work for joints and tendons, and single joint exercises for hypertrophy.
This means you can lift heavy without being beaten into the ground, build muscle without sacrificing recovery, and train hard while improving long-term durability. I apply these principles across powerlifting, CrossFit, strength & conditioning, and performance-focused general population coaching. Every program is adapted to the individual and their goals, training history, injury background, and lifestyle, while staying true to the most effective training system in the world.
